About Our Congregation
Discover who we are, what we believe, and why we are passionate about our faith and community.
A Congregation Built on Love and Faith
The Earl Grey Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses has been a treasured part of the Earl Grey community for many years. Founded on the timeless principles found in the Holy Bible, our congregation has grown as a spiritual family united by our shared love for Jehovah God and our commitment to living by His Word.
Located at 306 Main Street in the heart of Earl Grey, Saskatchewan, our Kingdom Hall serves as a gathering place for worship, learning, and fellowship. Just as the village of Earl Grey itself — named after the 4th Earl Grey who served as Governor General of Canada from 1904 to 1911 — has stood the test of time, so too has our congregation remained a steadfast presence in this prairie community.
We are a registered nonprofit organization (Registry ID: 765943881RR0001), and every program, meeting, and service we offer is completely free of charge. Our mission is not to collect but to give freely — sharing the hope and comfort found in God's Word with all who seek it.
Our Core Beliefs
Jehovah's Witnesses base all their beliefs, practices, and moral standards on the Bible. Here are some of the foundational beliefs that shape our congregation.
The Bible Is God's Word
We believe the entire Bible — both Old and New Testaments — is divinely inspired and is the reliable standard for all aspects of life and worship. It contains practical wisdom for every situation we face.
Jehovah Is the True God
We believe Jehovah is the name of the one true God, the Creator of all things. His name appears nearly 7,000 times in ancient Bible manuscripts. We honour and worship Him above all.
Jesus Christ Is Our Saviour
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Saviour of mankind. Through his perfect ransom sacrifice, he made eternal life possible for all who exercise faith in him and live by his teachings.
God's Kingdom Is Real
We believe God's Kingdom — the government Jesus told us to pray for — will bring everlasting peace, health, and happiness to the earth. This is the core of the "good news" we share.
Hope for the Future
We believe the dead are not suffering — they are asleep in death, awaiting the resurrection promised in God's Word. This hope brings real comfort to those grieving the loss of loved ones.
Love Your Neighbour
Jesus identified love as the greatest commandment. We strive to demonstrate genuine love for our neighbours, our community, and all people — regardless of their background or beliefs.
The Values That Define Our Congregation
Our values are not just words — they are principles drawn from the Bible that we strive to apply in our daily lives, in our congregation, and in our service to the Earl Grey community.
Faith
Our unwavering trust in Jehovah God and the truth of His Word anchors everything we do.
Community
We care deeply for one another and for our neighbours in Earl Grey and beyond.
Education
We are lifelong learners, committed to growing in Bible knowledge and wisdom.
Service
We give freely of our time and energy to serve others with no expectation of reward.
"You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind. This is the greatest and first commandment. The second, like it, is this: You must love your neighbour as yourself."— Matthew 22:37-39 (New World Translation)
