FAQ

Common Questions

Here are answers to some of the most common questions people have before attending their first meeting.

Absolutely not! Our meetings are open to everyone — members of the public, people of all faiths, and those with no religious background whatsoever. There is no pressure and no obligation to become a Jehovah's Witness. You are simply a welcome guest.
All meetings are entirely free of charge. There is no collection plate, no membership fees, and no financial obligations of any kind. Our congregation is funded entirely by voluntary contributions from members of our own congregation.
Yes! Children of all ages are welcome. We are a family-friendly congregation and love seeing families attend together. There are portions of the meeting specifically geared toward young ones, and parents may step out with young children if needed.
If you have one, feel free to bring it! We primarily use the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures. However, any Bible translation is welcome and there is no requirement to bring one — we can provide you with reading materials during the meeting.
Meeting times may vary seasonally. Please contact us directly at 306-560-3565 or EarlGreyCongregationJW@hotmail.com to confirm current meeting days and times. You can also use the Meeting Finder tool at jw.org.
Not at all. You are welcome to simply sit, listen, and observe. While members of the congregation voluntarily raise their hands to answer questions during the meeting, visitors are never put on the spot. You can participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable.
"Let us consider one another so as to incite to love and fine works, not forsaking our meeting together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another."
— Hebrews 10:24-25 (New World Translation)
